January 1, 1961 ~ March 1, 2024

The evening of March 1, 2024, Jim passed suddenly in his home due to a massive heart attack. He had his loving wife, Ida, by his side. Not everyone is fortunate enough to get such true love but Jim was.

Jim was born January 1, 1961. He met the love of his life at a Great Falls hall social and the rest is a love story like no other. After a short courtship they knew it was meant to be and Jim got down on one knee. Married on July 2, 1988. They raised 4 children together, Andrew (Rizza, Brielle and Daniel), Evan (Phil), Karley (Steven, Clay and Liam), Joshua (Jaylene).

Jim’s adventurous spirit lead the family on many great expeditions together. The family loved the outdoors. From crazy road trips across the country, to fishing, to long walks in nature.  Jim and Ida were a team who did everything together.  So many memories were made while camping, gardening, hiking, kayaking, and even cooking. He loved his family unconditionally and was there to offer a helping hand whenever anyone needed.  His generosity knew no bounds.  He was known as a local hardware store and the price was right (a conversation).

He leaves behind a large extended family.  His loving wife Ida, and 4 children and their spouses, 4 grandchildren, his brothers and sisters, in-laws as well as his mother in-law and father in-law (Robert and Jeannine Chevrefils).  He will be missed everyday by those he left behind that were fortunate enough to have loved him.

Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, March 8, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Georges Roman Catholic Church in St. Georges, Manitoba. Interment will follow at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim’s memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Condolence from Melody Anderson on March 5th, 2024 5:27 pm

To Ida and family, my sincere condolences on the devastating loss of Jim. “Grief, I’ve learned, is really just love. It’s all the love you want to give, but cannot. All that unspent love gathers up in the corners of your eyes, the lump in your throat, and in that hollow part of your chest. Grief is just love with no place to go.” (Jamie Anderson) May love surround you as you grieve and share memories.

To my dear friend Ida and all members of the family,

David and I send our deepest condolences in the loss of your dear Jim – loving husband and best friend, devoted father and grandfather. Although we only met Jim a few times personally, it was easy to feel that we met the man he really was…friendly, welcoming, warm hearted, thoughtful and genuine. You could see that in Jim’s smile and feel it when he spoke to you.
May your countless memories bring you comfort today, and in the days to come. We send our love.

Condolence from Luanne Anderson on March 6th, 2024 10:41 pm

Ida and family, I am so very sorry for your loss of Jim.

As he was friends with my brothers when we were young, my memories of him are mostly of that stage in his life. Over the years, when I would visit my Mom and Dad at Great Falls, I would look down the street at the lovely yard and home that you and Jim created.

You both worked hard and it was nice to read about the many great experiences that you shared together.

I know Jim had many excellent qualities, but If I can sum my memories of him up in one word, he was always kind.
