She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren; Susan (Colin), Jennifer (Karl), Cameron (Katrina), Burton (Kate), Bobby, Tyson (Laura), Dallas, Carly (Tanner), Julia (Trevor), Eric and great-grandchildren; Taylor, Dylan, Sydney, Liam, Austin, Tavis, Bennett and Jane. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Anni Kinzel, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Gisela was predeceased by her parents Heinrich and Margaret Kinzel, her husband John, son Walter, son-in-law Paul Duncan, her brother Ernst Kinzel, mother-in-law and father-in-law.

John and Gisela were married in February of 1954 and then embarked on the long journey of coming to Canada in August 1954. They made their home in Whitemouth, Manitoba where they farmed and raised eight children. In 1982 they sold their dairy farm in Whitemouth and moved to Anola, Manitoba to a hobby farm. They lived on the hobby farm until 2008 when they moved to Beausejour, Manitoba.

Mom was a hard-working woman who instilled her work ethic in all her children. She was loving, caring, kind, and genuine. She loved to cook for her family and friends, no one ever left her home hungry. She often hosted gatherings with family and friends, chatting over cake and coffee. She loved gardening, flowers always brought her so much joy.

The family would like to thank Dr. Schmidt, Dr. Van Rensberg, and the staff at East Gate Personal Care Home in Beausejour for their care and compassion.

Psalm 73:26 – “My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”
