October 29, 1947 – July 8, 2017
With heavy hearts and with family by her side we announce the passing of Yvonne Powell on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at the age of 69.
Yvonne will be lovingly remembered by her husband Donald; son Ricky (Luz) and children Ezra and Eriy; daughter Janice (Edward) and children Megan, Julie, Kaitlyn and Lee; daughter Alicia (Aron) and children Shanise and Taryn; and brother Bob (Ronnie). Yvonne was predeceased by her little angel Lynn and parents Gedeon and Yvette whom she is now jointly reunited with. She is also survived by sisters in-law Alice (Dominique), Janie, Addi (Tundi) and Karen, brother in-law Jim, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Special in Yvonne’s life were Irene (Dennis), Lorette, Terry, Louise, Sandra and Linda.
The family would like to thank Dr. Ota and the health team for the care given to Yvonne.
“Mom was a good woman, she raised us with manners and taught us well. She loved arts and crafts, gardening and was always thoughtful. Mom lived with dignity and purpose and I think, would like us to remember the good times…” Written by son Ricky.
As per Yvonne’s wishes no formal service will be held.
Donations may be made in Yvonne’s memory to Cystic Fibrosis Canada.
“When I am gone, release me, let me go
I have so many things to see and do
You must not tie yourself to me with tears
Be happy I have had these years.
I gave you my love, you can only guess
How much you gave me in happiness
I thank you for the love each have shown
But now it is time to travelled on alone.”

Your words describe your mom perfectly. To me, she always exuded kindness and patience.
