Born December 17,1929 on the family farm in Brokenhead.  He leaves to mourn his wife Barbara (Baker) and children, Brad, Bridget (Dwight); grandchildren Briette (Tyler), Latrissa (Zak) and sister-in-law Edna Kozyra.  He was predeceased by his parents Harry and Katherine Kozyra (nee Kryschuk) and his brother Peter.

His first career was a public school teacher at Lebau, White Poplar and St. Ouens schools before joining Reimer Agencies in 1952 and purchasing the agency in 1967.  In 1985 he sold the agency and dedicated his time to serving on a number of organizations.

We are grateful for the wonderful care he received at East-Gate Lodge.

In lieu of flowers donations are welcome to be made to the Brokenhead River Community Foundation or East-Gate Lodge.

To Barb & Family, we’re deeply saddened by the news of Bill’s passing. Words are not enough to comfort
one in facing the grief that comes when one loses a life partner. Bill was a life long neighbour, friend and
my boss when he hired me at Kozyra Agencies ,four yrs of friendship and good times. Know that you are
in my thoughts and in my heart. Sincere Sympathy to All!

Condolence from Gordon M. Barton on April 3rd, 2021 1:48 pm

My good fried, Bill, has gone to his keeper. Bill and I over many, many years, spent a lot of time together working on promoting Manitoba’s tourism industry for the Eastern Region. We traveled may miles together doing this.
Of note, Bill was huge promoter of the Old Highway #1 promotion as a tourism destination, which he achieved and is now in place. He also was a keen advocate of the LaVerendrye Trail, which has for many years become a tourism destination.
I am grateful to have been his friend, and will fondly remember him as a kind, respectful person who never received the honors he should have in promoting tourism for the Easter Region.
I will miss him,
Gord Barton
