1946 ~ 2012
With great sadness we announce the passing of Barry at the age of 65 years, at Steinbach Bethesda Hospital on Wednesday, February 15, 2012.
He will be dearly missed by his wife Ruth, their children Kristi (Bill) Reid, Dwain (Terryl) Stone and grandchildren Izaac Reid, Sebastian and Indigo Stone. Barry will be deeply missed by his siblings, Robert (Monique) Stone, Elma (Garry) Stewart, and Richard(Donna) Stone as well as many other treasured relatives and friends.
Barry was born on November 24, 1946 in Killarney, MB. He met the love of his life in high school and married her in 1967. Barry and Ruth moved to Steinbach, MB in 1970 where they had their two children. Barry’s dedication and compassion for the families he served as a funeral director in southeast Manitoba will always be remembered.
Barry’s many passions included reading, horses, and hunting but none were more important than spending time with family. His sense of humour and big heart will be forever cherished by those who knew him best.
Condolences were extended to the family at a Come and Go Reception on Monday from 7:00-8:30 p.m. in the Emmanuel Free Church Chapel, 360 McKenzie Ave. Steinbach MB.
A family service of remembrance was held in the Boissevain Mennonite Brethren Church on Wednesday February 22, 2:00 p.m.
If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.

Dear Ruth,
I’m so sorry and shocked to read on Steinbach on-line of Barry’s passing. May the Lord give you comfort and peace at this time. He was way too young but the Lord had other plans. Praying the Lord will also give you strength in this time of grief and loss.
