January 6, 1961 ~ December 3, 2019
It is with great sorrow, we announce the passing of Wayne Robertson on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at the age of 58 at Pinawa Hospital.
Wayne will be lovingly remembered by his wife Denise, daughter Danielle, sister Cathy, stepson Joe (Kelly), stepdaughter Fallon (Murray), grandchildren Ellie, Teghan, Mason, Caleb and Jace, mother in-law Betty Schinkel, brother in-law Doug (Val) and Don, as well as many extended family members and friends. Wayne was predeceased by his parent Betty and Donald.
Wayne grew up in Comox, British Columbia. He loved where he grew up and always had plans to go back and visit. He would took great pride in his home and yard and was always building something to make it beautiful. He also enjoyed car and bike shows and could be seen taking his Harley on rides as often as he could. Wayne also loved history. A tear would come to his eye when he would talk about people who fought and died for our country.
Wayne loved his daughter and his extended family. He was a straight forward man who would always strike up friendly conversations with clients and friends. His beautiful welcoming smile and infectious laugh will be missed.
“Wayne, you truly were my soulmate. In the short time we were together, we accomplished so much. We were two free souls riding together on your Harley. You were an amazing, loving husband who I adored greatly. Rarely was there a time when there were no roses on the counter, lilacs on my pillow and coffee on my nightstand in the morning. I will miss you always, your loving wife Denise.”
Thank you to the palliative care, home care, and Pinawa Hospital staff for the care and compassion shown to Wayne. Thank you to friends and family for the unforgettable support given during this difficult time. Your phone calls, messages, cards, flowers and food are greatly appreciated.
As per Wayne’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a service will be held next spring with close friends and family.
My Star in Heaven
I am sending a dove to heaven
with a parcel on its wings
be careful when you open it
It’s full of beautiful things
inside are a million kisses
wrapped up in a million hugs
to say how much I miss you
and to send you all my love.
I hold you close within my heart
and there you will remain
to walk with me throughout my life
until we meet again.

Thankyou so much Debbie. I sure wish we could have made it out there. It was in our plans for summer but due to other complications we couldn’t make it. I would have loved to meet his family. I loved him so so much and miss him severely
