He also for many years was involved in the community with local hockey, mainly with the Jr. B Comets as a manager and trainer.

Walter leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved son Michael and wife Tina, grandchildren Tiffany, Mathew, Matraisa, and Robert.  Daughter Colleen and husband Darryl, grandchildren, Austin, Logan and Parker. He also leaves behind to mourn his brother Ron and sister in-law Arlene and nephews Scott and Dylan and their wives and their children, sister in-law Judy Danchuk and partner Nick, nephew Kevin and his daughter Kasandra.

The family wishes to express their thanks to the Beausejour Hospital staff and the Selkirk homecare field staff for their compassion and kindness during this difficult time.

Colleen and Family…so sorry to hear about your dad…wish I could be there today but unfortunately I have a family funeral in Virdon. My thoughts and prayers are with you especially today. Draw comfort from your faith knowing that your mom and dad are now back together. I know that was huge for me when my dad passed…he was so sad and lonely without my mom…now they are together for eternity. Love to all of you.
