It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Toini Elsie Violet Pastula, on Friday, April 10, 2015 at Beausejour Health Center in Beausejour, MB.
Mom is survived by her children Carol Gabrielle (Terry), Darryl (Kelly), Janice Warren (Dave), Denise Kazina (Fred), James (Dana); grandchildren Paul, Michelle (Steven), Kristen (Cole), Joel, Garret (Kimberly), Chad (Karen), Stacey (Dustin), Cody, Chelsea; and great grandchildren Emily, Elizabeth, Lainey, and Maicey; as well as sister Ethel of Edmonton.
Mom was preceded in death by her husband Stanley of 49 years, and sisters Lilja and Eila.
Born in Benalto, Alberta on October 20, 1925, she was raised on a farm near Sylvan Lake, Alberta along with her sisters.
Mom loved gardening, bird watching, camping, travelling, cooking and sewing. For her children she instilled the values of honesty, education, integrity and hard work. She was a very devoted mother providing many varied activities for her children. Her family meant the world to her and there was nothing she wouldn’t do for them.
The family would like to thank Dr. D. Schmidt, Dr. Szaky, Dr. VanRensburg and the wonderful caring staff at East Gate Lodge and Beausejour Health Center.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel in Beausejour, Manitoba. Cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers, if friends and family so desire, donations in mom’s memory may be made to the Beausejour Handivan (204-268-4123) or East Gate Lodge Personal Care Home recreational department c/o North Eastman Health Association, Box 1690, Beausejour, Manitoba, R0E 0C0.
