Posted By Sobering Funeral Chapel On September 27, 2021 @ 2:25 pm In Obituaries | 52 Comments
It is with sorrow that we announce the passing of Tom Boyle on September 25, 2021.
Tom was a loving father, husband, uncle and friend. People were drawn to his gentle, witty personality and you can always be assured a funny story would be told.
A man who loved sports, music and laughter. Sports was always a conversation that Tom liked discussing with his son and friends. He was forever teased by his loyalty to the Toronto Maple Leafs and would always have a lively remark that would make you laugh and perhaps make you want to cheer for the team. Tom enjoyed living in Pinawa and knew it provided a safe home for a family.
The last three years were hard for Tom. He struggled with his health and his mobility and during that time never complained and just carried on the best he could.
Tom will lovingly be remembered by his wife Shirley, his son Michael, nieces and nephews and his dear friends. Tom was most honoured to be a godfather to three amazing god daughters, Wendy Nixon, Patti Arril and Robyn Vandersteen.
Tom was predeceased by his father Tom Boyle and mother Eleanor Boyle. His sister Agnes Arril and mother-in-law Mary Bodykevich.
Cremation has taken place and at this time there will be no memorial gathering. With the unpredictable pandemic we are still facing, he wanted everyone to be safe and remain healthy.
Precious memories will keep you near.
You will always be in our heart.
Offer Condolence for the family of THOMAS CHARLES BOYLE
Deepest condolences to Shirley and Michael. I truly enjoyed chatting and joking with him.
Tom was such a great guy, with a wonderful sense of humour. His nickname for me was ‘Lois’, of Lois Lane fame. It stemmed from my days as the sports reporter for the Pinawa Press, and he never called me anything else.
We’re glad he’s free from the pain of the last few years, and we won’t ever think of him without a smile crossing our face. Rest in peace, and peace and healing to Shirley and Michael.

So very sorry for your loss. Tom’s sense of humour and good nature made him my hands down favourite person to come into the post office each day. So very sorry to hear. Such a nice guy with a huge heart and always fun to be around. Tom will be remembered as one of those people who made Pinawa a wonderful place to live.
Tom and I were coworkers at AECL Pinawa. I have fond memories of Tom. He gave me the nickname Nedamanski. I appreciated his sense of humour. The Lord had been good in my life and I pray his Spirit will comfort the family at this time.

Most sincere condolences Shirley and Mike on the the passing of truly one great “big guy”.
Tom was big in many ways with his sense of humour and friendly natural big smile.
Tom and I along with Jack Holben were a fun threesome in the 60’s working at The Bay. We enjoyed our curling days together and sharing the house on Tweedsmuir.
He certainly will be missed by all who new him.
Tom was truly one great guy.
Very saddened to hear of Tom’s passing. My memories of Tom go back to the olden days in Pinawa — the late sixties. I enjoyed working at the Bay, grocery section, where Tom was one of those wonderful bosses — the town got fed — and I never saw Tom boss anyone!
Sincere Condolences to Shirley and Michael.
