1927 ~ 2018
It is with sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mom and baba, Sophie Shendroski at East Gate Lodge on Monday, October 8, 2018 at the age of 91.
She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her three children: Arthur (Edith), Donnie (Betty) and Florence (Bruce), her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Also left to cherish her memory are many family and friends.
We will remember Sophie for her spunk, sense of humour and her delicious perogies. She overcame many challenges in her life through her strong will and smiles.
A special thank you to the staff at East gate Lodge for all the care and compassion they showed our mom and baba.
As per Sophie’s request, cremation has taken place and a private gathering to celebrate Sophie’s life will take place in the future.
Flowers are gratefully declined.
Offer Condolence for the family of Sophie Shendroski (nee Prokop)

My sincere sympathy Arthur, Edith, Donny, Betty, Florence, Bruce and extended family. Sophie was a very strong, friendly, hard working lady. Still beautiful and I see such a resemblance to her sisters Annie and Kay. She has certainly earned her rest.
Raise those angel wings and fly Sophie!

Dear Florence , Donnie and Arthur,
Our most sincere condolences to you and your families. Aunty Sophie was a great friend to our mom. Her cabbage bun recipe is still our favourite. Her home was always open to everyone and so was her fridge! We always had a fun time at the farm, even when that crazy goose was chasing us or “George”, the dog , licked our ice cream cone! Aunty Sophie also made sure that we could all swim, before we headed off to the famous swimming hole! Although we did not see her often enough in her last years , we will always have her in our hearts!
Florence
Thank you for sharing these lovely memories with us, very much appreciated.
