Russell passed away suddenly at his home on September 30, 2018 at the age of 62.
Russell was born on April 11, 1956 to Tony and Irene Gmiterek in Winnipeg. He spent most of his life in the Cloverleaf area.
He will be greatly missed by his siblings, Karen Winnicki, Ernie, Gail Morden (Fred) and Bonnie Verrier (Christophe). Also mourning are nieces and nephews, Erin (Paola, Robin), Jill (Max, Toby, Henry), Myles (Kayla), Mitchell (Kayla, Greyson), Hilary, Mariel and numerous family and friends. Russell was predeceased by his Dad and Mom.
Russell previously worked many years at Gillis Quarries. He was currently employed by Beausejour Tire, where his absence is already being felt.
Over the years Russell enjoyed riding his motorcycle, hunting, following the CFL, reading and crossword puzzles. He was especially fond of cold Pepsi, M&M’s, McDonald’s fries and Sunday morning coffee with Ernie.
In keeping with Russell’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 13 at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Ave. E., Beausejour, MB.
Memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Manitoba.
