Roy Barnsdale passed away peacefully with family by his side on Friday, February 28, 2020, at the age of 87.
Roy is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Elizabeth, children Roy, Tom, Mike, Paul, Walter, Peter, Maureen and Mark, and many loving grandchildren. Roy was predeceased by his sons Daniel, Edward and Glen.
The family would like to thank the staff at Pinawa Hospital for their exceptional care and compassion.
As per Roy’s wishes, no formal service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba.

They don’t get much better than Roy. A wonderful man who took so many under his wing. Many of our very best memories of our time in Pinawa were with the Barnsdale family and Roy was always at the top. From his golf heckles, to teaching us the right way to camp, to being welcomed around the campfire and family dinner table – he was an awesome individual. He will be missed but his impact and love for all will be carried forward by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Our thoughts are with all of you.

I’m just devastated to be just finding out about grandpa. I had no clue and I’m so very sorry to find out this way. Hope that grandma is ok and pulling threw this difficult time. Just can’t believe it. No words could ever describe how I’m feeling. Always knew with all that I am that I’m a Barnsdale inside and out 100% no questions.
