November 25, 1954 ~ October 26, 2023
Peacefully on October 26th, Rosemary Ida Gaffray passed away from a short battle with cancer at the age of 68 years in her hometown of Pine Falls, MB.
Rosemary was born on November 25, 1954 in Winnipeg, MB but moved with her family to the community of Powerview-Pine Falls, MB in her early teenage years. In her twenties, she met the love of her life, Donald Gaffray. Together, they built a home and a life together in Silver Falls, MB where they raised their boys. Rosemary was able to spend her last summer days in her home enjoying the echoes of the airplanes flying over her point, reminiscing with family and friends and the companionship of her four legged friend, Virtue.
Rosemary was predeceased by her husband Donald of 37 years, her parents, John and Irene Ruse along with her sister Debra, brothers in-laws: Ted and Lawrie Gaffray and George Litzenberger.
She will be lovingly remembered by her sons Darrin & Jeffrey, her sister in-law Ruth Litzenberger, sister & brother in-laws Andrea and Arthur Gaffray along with her nieces, nephews and their families along with her dear friends, and cousins.
During Rosemary’s short years, she was an active member and held various positions within many local and nonlocal charities. She developed a love of travel which brought her many places far and wide building memories along the way with her family and friends. Rosemary could also be found attending or watching various sporting events, EMCA presentations and concerts in the big city. Most recently, Rosemary enjoyed her new past time of playing cards at the Pine Falls Leisure Club and this was evident by her monthly calendar.
Rosemary’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all involved in assisting with Rosemary’s care and wellbeing during her time in need. Without their care and compassion, her time at home would not have been possible.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, November 6, 2023, at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Ave E, Beausejour, MB. Interment will follow at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a charity of your choice in Rosemary’s memory.

Our sincere condolences to all the family and friends of RoseBud. Including Rose’s furfriend “Virtue”.
Adrian and I grew up with RoseBud. Adrian went to school with her. I took swimming lessons with her. We’ll always remember her polished manners, sweet smile and zest for life. The Golden Girls at our GL club will miss playing canasta with Rose.
Thankfully….
Our friends battle was a short one. It was sad to see her slip away.
“Until we meet again my friend”.
With love,
Gail and Adrian

Adrian and I grew up with RoseBud.
Adrian went to school with her. I took swimming lessons with her and we played canasta together at the Golden Leasure Club. The “Golden Girls” are going to miss her. We’ll fondly remember her impeccable manners, sweet smile and sense of humor.
Her battle was quick and thankfully she got to spend some time at home before her battle ended.
We will miss you RoseBud.
Thank you for being a friend.
