Rose passed away peacefully at East-Gate Lodge at the young age of 99! Rosie was born at the homestead in Cromwell, Manitoba to Mike and Mary Szajewski. She was predeceased by her parents, brothers Joe and Casmir, her sister Helen, sisters-in-law Mary-Lou and Benita. She will be lovingly remembered by her cherished sister Cecelia, her nephews and nieces and great nephews and nieces.
Rose had a generous and kind spirit. She moved to Hamilton as a young adult and made a life there working and making many friendships. She loved coming home to the farm for summers and Christmas holidays. She returned to Beausejour with Cecelia in the mid nineties and there she stayed until her peaceful passing. We are grateful for knowing such a lovely person.
Many thanks to her caregivers at Beausejour Hospital and East Gate Lodge. We always knew she was in good hands and never had to worry about our Rosie.
Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Saturday October 23 at 11:00 a.m. Burial at St. Peter and St. Paul cemetery in Ladywood.
Pallbearers are Trevor Szajewski, Kyle Omichinski, Tim Szajewski, Jack Bartlett, Anita Reimer, Tristan Szajewski and Ethan Szajewski. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Beausejour food bank in Rosie’s memory.

Cecilia,
I am saddened to learn of your sisters passing. My memories are of you and Rosie visiting our family in London, sometimes by car and sometimes on the bus from Hamilton. Your visits helped us as kids to know we had family in Manitoba. I know our parents enjoyed being able to reminisce the good ole days. Long time ago now…. My heartfelt sympathy.
