It is with deep sadness we announce the sudden passing of our beloved dad, grandfather, son, step-father, uncle, nephew, godfather, cousin & friend.
He is survived by his loving children; Daryl (Sherri), Nicholas, Leanne, Steven (Oriel) & Sarah (Josh) and two step-children Wyntor & Trey. Also by his 12 grandchildren who adoringly called him “Papa”; Destiny, Raimi, Nova, Kess, Keira, Steven Jr., Jack, Justice, Tyrell, Lucian, Tessa & Matthew.
He also leaves to mourn his mother Bernice Tobin, sister Cheryl Hidvegi, brothers John, Don and Gordon, aunt Irene Jonasson, uncle Craig and many nieces & nephews.
He was predeceased by his loving grandparents Henry & Isabel Houston, brother Jim, nephew Grant, step-son Chris and uncle Keith Jonasson.
Ron lived his entire life in Powerview where he raised his family. He started working at the age of 16 at the Abitibi Paper Mill where he worked for many years until its closure. From there he worked for the Bissett Mines – most recently the 1911 Gold Corp Company in Bissett.
Because of his friendly nature Ron gained many lifelong friends throughout the years. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
