It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, aunt and friend Rita Norma Kulyk who passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on August 19, 2021 at the Beausejour Hospital at the age of 73.
Rita was born in Philomena, Alberta on August 4, 1948.
She is predeceased by her father Peter; her brothers Harvey, Jimmy, Robert, Phillip and Brian.
She will be loving remembered by Andrew, her husband of 53 years. As well she will be lovingly remembered by her children Stephen (Kari) and Jaime; grandchildren Evan and James. She is also survived by her mother Frances; siblings Ronald (Bev), Chuck (Irene), Norm, Randy (Julie) and Rhonda (Martin). Rita also leaves numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Rita loved working with seniors at Kin Place, East Gate Lodge and Pineview Lodge as an Adult Day Program Co-ordinator, a position she enjoyed for over 30 years.
Rita was passionate about her family especially her grandchildren. Even though her family was in Alberta she had constant contact with her siblings and her mother. They’d have daily phone conversations.
Rita had a generous heart and was always giving to people. If anyone came for dinner they would always leave for home with lots of leftovers.
She loved people and loved to read. She had about 2000 books of every sort. She also enjoyed going to the greenhouses to pick out flowers.
She will be dearly missed by her family.
Many thanks to the Beausejour Hospital and Cancer Care for all the care and compassion they showed towards Rita.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to CIBC Run for the Cure – https://bndfr.com/QsnMf or Cancer Care Manitoba.

Sending warm and caring thoughts to you at this time. I just heard of Rita’s passing and was shocked . I sure enjoyed when she worked at Kinplace and I at Alzheimer’s over 10 years ago. Always a warm smile and a solution! And painting class here in town! Lots of chuckles . What a delight . RIP Rita
