It is with peace and love that our family announces the passing of our beloved father Peter R.Courchene. He left peacefully with our youngest brother Mark and his Sister Alma at his bedside on Friday, December 2nd at 7:24 a.m, Pine Falls Hospital. He leaves to cherish his memory; his children Cindy Guimond (Claude), Todd Courchene (Tamara), and Mark Courchene (Carolyn), and Crystal Fontaine, Sherman Courchene whom he raised. Grand Children Farrel Guimond (Peggy), Jessica Courchene, Lee Courchene (Jodie), Emery Guimond, Courtney Courchene, Shaylene Guimond, Shezna Guimond, Shayna Courchene, Cole Courchene, Cody Morrisseau, Tikkan Morrisseau, Payton Morrisseau, McKenzie Morrisseau, great grand children Treasure, Starla, Dante, Shay, Cash, Avril, Rosie, Azriah, Sage, Tye, Kalem, Libby, Cruze, Annabel, Brody. He will also be remembered by the last of his siblings Victor Courchene, Alma Guimond (Niel) and Joanie Enns (Jack). His in-laws Nick, Clifford, Therese, Jean, Eva, Larry (Gean), Ron (Peggy), Wayne (Carol), Diane (Pat), Lorna, Ruby (Gerry) as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was predeceased by his Parents Harry and Mable Courchene, his in-laws Felix and Elize Fontaine, his foster son Rod Woodhouse, brothers Gregory Courchene, Joe-Frank Courchene, Romeo Courchene, sisters Norma Fontaine, Evelyn Webster, Annette Seigel, Diane Lavoie, Joyce Courchene.
Our Family would like to acknowledge and thank Dr Ota, for the medical care of our Dad, his home care Nurse Evelyn Gudmonson, and Nurse Practitioner Fredricka Ballentyne. We would also like to thank the staff of the Pine Falls hospital for the care and compassion provided.
Wake Services and Viewing will be held at his residence, North Shore, Sagkeeng First Nation, Saturday Decemeber 3 – 5, 2016. Funeral Tuesday December 6th, 2:00 p.m St. Alexander Parish, Sagkeeng First Nation.
