1918 ~ 2017
On August 11, 2017, Pauline passed away at the age of 99, at the Middlechurch Home. She was born June 7, 1918.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughters-in-law: Alice, Frances, Bernice and Dianne, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
Pauline was predeceased by her husband William and her sons: Irvin, Raymond, Douglas and Brian, as well as granddaughter Barbara.
Funeral Service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church in Beausejour, on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with viewing one hour prior.
The family would like to sincerely thank all the staff of B2 at Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg Inc., for their above and beyond care.

Miilie and I extend our deepest sympathies to you and your family. May the soul of your mother be at peace with our Heavenly Father.
Our deepest condolences to the family, on the loss of a wonderful Lady. My Granny Katie Honke and Aunt Lydia while they were with us, always kept us updated on Aunty Pauline. May she rest in peace and be reunited once again with her boys.
My sincere sympathy to the family of Mrs. Honke. When I was a child my aunt was babysitting me and she took me to a bridal shower hosted by Mrs. Honke. It was my first shower and I was intrigued by the entire experience. Of course, there were all of these delicious sandwiches and dainties that were so very special at bridal showers. I decided to try a dill pickle (my first ever). I could not stop eating the pickles that Mrs. Honke made because they were so delicious. I think my aunt was a bit embarrassed because Mrs. Honke kept filling the dish so I could have more. I have been making my own pickles for years now, and although my family tells me they are excellent, they just do not taste like the pickles I enjoyed that afternoon so many years ago. I have thought of Mrs. Honke every pickling season and remembered her fondly for her smile, her hospitality and her delicious pickles. She was a lovely person.
I just read of Mrs. Honke’s passing and I want to let her family know what she meant to me growing up. Mrs. Honke babysat me and my brother Brooks . . . she was so very generous, kind and patient. Her gentle voice was as soft and as sweet as candy floss. Through the years we lost contact but every time I drive past the corner of Highway 44 and 11 I am flooded with the fondest memories of her. Life on life’s terms were not easy for Mrs. Honke . . . her grief through the years as she lost her loved ones must have been profound. She was truly a lovely soul; and as I sit writing this I feel fortunate to have her as part of my childhood memories; she was all goodness and gave the best hugs! Sending my sympathy and love to Mrs. Honke’s family as you feel the loss of a very fine and extraordinary woman. Love, Luci
