Olga Dalke (nee Krebs)

1923~2012

On Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at Beausejour Hospital, Olga Dalke passed away peacefully with her family by her side.

Olga was born on January 10, 1923 on the Krebs family farm in Golden Bay.  She attended Golden Bay School.  She worked at Pitch’s Department Store in Beausejour where she met the love of her life, Clarence Dalke.  They were married on July 17, 1948.  They had one daughter, Beverly.  They farmed in the Golden Bay area, then moved to Winnipeg and retired in Beausejour in 1976.  Olga worked at the Beausejour Hospital as a cook for 10 years.  She enjoyed entertaining and cooking for family and friends.  Olga loved to travel. She was a faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church where she was involved in the ELW ladies group.  In her later years, she resided at Stony Plains Terrace where she was known as “Miss Helpful” or “Miss Social Butterfly”.  She enjoyed all the activities at Stony Plains, even peeling potatoes.

Remaining to forever cherish Olga’s memory is her beloved daughter Beverly and husband Donald.  She is also survived by her sister Wanda Litke and brothers George (Ruth), Gordon (Alice) and Ron.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Clarence in 1976, her parents Fred and Molly Krebs, and sisters Violet, Ruth, Margaret and Doreen.  She was also predeceased by all her brothers in-law and sisters in-law in the Dalke family.

A very special “thank you” to her angel Cheryl and her family, Stony Plains Homecare and Companions, Dr. Khan and the Beausejour Hospital Nursing Staff.

A Celebration of her Life will be held on Monday, May 14 at 2:00 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 403 First St. N., Beausejour with Pastor Bart Coleman officiating.  Viewing will be one hour prior to the service.  Interment will follow in the Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Olga’s memory to the Zion Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or the Beausejour Hospital T.V. Fund.
