August 8, 1947 ~ May 25, 2021

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear wife, mother and nanny Millie Fey at the Health Sciences Centre on May 25, 2021.

Millie will be deeply missed by her husband Walter, son Wally (Bonnie), daughter Lori (Dan), her precious grandchildren: Skyler (Dustin), Shay-Lynn (Brayden), and her grand doggies.

She was predeceased by her parents, Donald and Barbara Brown, and brother Kevin.

Millie and Walter met in their late teens in Grand Marais where they quickly fell in love and got married in 1969. Shortly after, son Wally was born then daughter Lori.

Millie was a family oriented woman and was loved by all who knew her. She was always a kind soul and ensured that guests were well taken care of by having snacks and soda’s ready at all times.

Millie also loved all animals, big and small. Her and Walter always ensured the deer were fed in the winter and the chipmunks in the summer. Millie also enjoyed watching the hummingbirds beside her living room window.

Millie had many hobbies including baking, watching her daytime soaps and playing Angry Birds. However, she especially enjoyed baking. She always phoned her children and grandchildren to take their requests and made sure everything was ready in time for Holiday dinner’s throughout the year. Millie also had a strong love for music. She loved listening and dancing to old country records, and enjoyed talking about her love for Rock n’ Roll.

Later in life, Millie found a new passion for watching hockey especially the Winnipeg Jets. Millie watched every single game, and continued cheering loudly for them in her final days.

Millie truly loved life and lived her life to the fullest. We will cherish our memories with her forever.

Cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Canadian Diabetes or the Kidney Foundation of Canada.

Dear Family,
I hope this finds it’s way to you.
I have been searching my Allen Family Tree for several years. I recently connected with Millie’s mother and grandmother’s side of the family. Ethel Rainey and my Grandfather, Walter C Allen, were brother/sister.
I am 75 years old. I vaguely remember meeting Barbara and her mother, Ethel, when they visited Washington, DC.
As I searched for family, I came across Millie’s name as someone I could connect and share family history. I am saddened to learn of her recent passing. As I read her obituary, I understood what I missed knowing and the blessing you all had.
I am enclosing my name and email address should anyone in the family want to make a connection.
Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss of such a fine lady.
