1925 ~ 2012

 

 Mrs. Gladys Guthrie died at the Pinawa Hospital at the age of 86.

She is predeceased by her brothers Richard and Glen,  her infant son John, and her granddaughter Kyla.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 60 years John, her daughters Trisha (Bill) and Beth (Paul), her grandchildren: Brianna, Erin, Alissa, Brian and Megan; her great grandchildren Angel and Nathan; and her cousin Margaret Goodale; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

If  friends and family so desire, donations may be made to Doctors Without Borders, c/o MSF 720 Spadina Ave., Suite 402, Toronto, ON M5S 2T9.

A Celebration of Life was held on Saturday, January 21st at 2:00 p.m. at F.W. Gilbert School, corner of McDiarmid Rd. & Massey Ave.

I am so sorry. If you were”Uncle Jock” then Gladys was “Aunt Gladys” to the meditation group. I will always remember her smile, laugh and gentle wisdom.

We are truly sorry to hear of Gladys’s passing. She always had a loving smile, a good listener, a kind heart. (only a few things I remember). If you were one of the lucky ones to have met Gladys, you were the fortunate one. Gladys, you will be the brightest star in the sky keeping watch over everyone.

I first met Gladys over 20 years ago under difficult circumstances and found her one of the most sympathetic and pleasant people I have ever met. I have always remembered her with affection and was lucky enough to meet her again last year. She was just the same lovely person I had met before. Will be thinking with sympathy of Jock and the family at this sad time.
