1937 – 2019
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our mother and grandmother, Maria Silva, on Thursday, March 7, 2019, with her family by her side, at Whitemouth Personal Care Home, after battling Alzheimer’s Disease.
She was predeceased by her husband Norberto, four sisters and her parents.
She is survived by her children, Maria Celeste (Frank), Tony, Norbert (Sandra), Leo (Diane) and Danny (Barb); six grandchildren, Michael, Nicole, Nathan, Greg, Marena and Alyssa; and two great-grandchildren, Zavier and Amaya.
The family would like to thank the staff at Whitemouth Personal Care Home for the care and compassion shown to our mom.
Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 13 at 1:00 p.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Ave. E., Beausejour, MB.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Maria’s name may be made to the Alzheimer Society Manitoba.

My deepest condolences to the Silva family at this difficult time.I grew up in Whitemouth and have fond memories of the Silva family. So sorry for this unimaginable loss.❤️Your friend Iris Mitchell
So sorry to all of you to hear of your loss. Your mom was an amazing lady and will never be forgotten. My fondest memory of her is the day after my son Allen was born. She knew how much I loved her rice pudding (Tony used to bring it for me when we went for coffee all the time) so on my breakfast tray at the hospital for me that morning was a huge bowl of her rice pudding – just for me. I will never forget how happy that made me feel! Cuddling the baby and the smile on her face tells me that made her just as happy!
For her, I am glad that she is in an easier place – the Alzheimer journey is such a hard journey both for the person going through it and the people watching them.

Good memories of growing up with our mothers and cousins in whitemouth. How the two sisters would call each other everyday. They would always buy the same things if they were out shopping. They are together again looking down on us. My condolences to my great cousins. Love you always

Sorry to hear of your moms passing she was a beautiful lady funny always singing I worked with her at hospital she will be missed rest now Maria bless the family . Love the gerardy Family
