1924 ~ 2018
It is with heartfelt sadness that our family announces the passing of Louis on Monday, July 23, 2018 at the Selkirk Regional Hospital, Selkirk, MB.
Dad was born March 1, 1924 in La Broquerie, MB. He was baptized into the Lutheran faith March 13, 1924 and confirmed October 23, 1938. Dad grew up in a Christian home and was a faithful member of Grace Lutheran Church in Beausejour. He faithfully served his Lord by serving on the church board for several years. Dad married our mom, Elsie Schmidtke on October 12, 1945. Together they were blessed with three children. Dad had a successful career as a farmer in Lowland, MB and always took great pride in growing his crops. Dad loved to share his stories with anyone that would listen and especially with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Many will remember him for his sense of humor.
Louis leaves to mourn his passing, son Gordon (Janice) of Winnipeg, daughters Geraldine Otto of Beausejour, and Doris Chestnut of Winnipeg. Grandchildren Christine Lewis, Sandra (Douglas) Stoyko, Coreen (John) Anderlum, Glenda (Michael) Bjarnarson, Lyle Otto, Stephanie Chestnut and Christian Chestnut. Great-grandchildren Ryan and Sarah Lewis, Pamela and Andrew Stoyko, Anica, Leah and James Anderlum, Matthew and Andrew Chestnut, Caysen and Macklyn Bjarnarson. One brother William Fiebelkorn of Beausejour and several sisters and brothers-in-law. Dad was predeceased by his wife Elsie in 2009, his parents Adolph and Emilie Fiebelkorn (nee Grams), 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 27 at 11:00 a.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Avenue E., Beausejour with viewing one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Beausejour Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Louis’ name may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, Box 538, Beausejour, MB R0E 0C0.

I have run the full distance,
