1933 ~ 2019

Lloyd McDougall passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at the age of 86.

Lloyd will be lovingly remembered by his daughters Linda and Donna (Jim), grandchildren Travis (Ghislaine) and Brandy (Erik), and great grandchildren Liam and Claire, as well as by family and friends.

Dad was born in Ashern, MB and was raised by his grandmother Julianna McDougall.  After leaving home, he worked in Red Lake, Ontario and upon returning to Ashern he met and married Dorothy Gosselin on September 14, 1957.  In 1958 he went to Rankin Inlet for 6 months to mine, returned to Ashern, then moved to Lac du Bonnet where he and Dorothy spent the next 61 years building a home, raising a family and being a part of the community.  Dad loved nature and was an avid hunter and liked to trap.  He was a jack of all trades and could turn his hand to almost anything.  He was a quiet man with a gentle sense of humour and a man of his word.

The family would like to thank the staff at Lac du Bonnet Personal Care Home and Dr. Bruneau for the care and commitment they provided dad.

As per Dad’s wishes cremation has already taken place and a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.

“You will always be in our hearts

And lovingly remembered”

Very sorry to learn of Lloyd’s passing, I found Lloyd to be a easy going likeable person and always enjoyed his company. I will miss our talks on repairing and welding.
