Jan. 21, 1928 ~ Nov. 16, 2021
Peacefully, mom left us to be with her Lord and Saviour. She was predeceased by her husband Eric; son Tim and his wife Cheryl; son David; parents Katie and Henry Alpers; brothers Harvey and Burt; and sister Vera. Left to mourn her passing are her children Kent (Vicki), Kathy (Erwin), Judy, Joan, and Deanne; her thirteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; her sister-in-law Lois; and her best friends Erica Pommer and Anne Besel.
Mom was born in Whitemouth and became a teacher at a very young age, working at Lonely Dale School and substituting at River Hills School. She met Eric at a Hungry Nine baseball game; they married and raised their seven children on the farm in River Hills. Mom loved her fishing and gardening, especially her flowers and her raspberry patch. Her passion was crosswords and playing cards and boardgames with her kids and grandkids. She was a devoted congregant of the Whiteshell Baptist Church and an active member of the “Golden Girls.” The one trait she instilled in all her children was a great sense of humour.
The family thanks the Lac du Bonnet Personal Care Home and the Pinawa Hospital for Mom’s care over the years, as well as Pina and Gary Tirschman for helping the family care for her when she lived in their apartment. Due to COIVD-19 restrictions, cremation has already taken place, and a private family gathering will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Whiteshell Baptist Church or a charity of one’s choice.

To the Rohrig Family: So sad to hear of Linda’s passing. May she rest in peace. We enjoyed having her as a neighbour and friend. She was always happy and enjoyed life. Her raspberry patch was something else, We still have some of the plants we scrounged from her. May you treasure all the memories you have of her and think of her often.

My sincere condolences to each one of Linda’s family.
I remember first visiting at your family home as a child with my parents, Bill and Ann Henschel .The evening included adults playing cards.Your parents were such a nice couple.Your Dad and mine shared a common interest playing baseball.
I also have “a special memory” of your Mom visiting with my Mom at our home prior to Linda giving birth to twins.
In later years , at any event in River Hills or Seven Sisters or if we met downtown in Beausejour I always enjoyed a pleasant conversation with Linda.
I pray that the wonderful memories you each shared with
your mother,grandmother,great-grandmother and great-great grandmother throughout the years will remain with you always.

I am so saddened to hear of Mrs. Rohrig’s passing. She was true to her faith and never spoke ill of anyone. She was a kind and caring woman. She and her husband Eric were our neighbours when we lived on the hill across from their farm. They were wonderful neighbours and dear friends all those years ago. When my mom was terminally ill Mrs. Rohrig came to our home and visited with her. Since my parents held Mr. and Mrs. Rohrig in very high esteem, my Mom was so deeply touched by her visit. To her children I extend my most sincere sympathy. In the words from the song from “The Golden Girls”, “Mrs. Rohrig thank you for being a friend.”
God Bless you.
