1936 ~ 2014
After a life richly blessed and generously lived and while surrounded by the company and love of family and friends, our beloved husband, father and grandfather Lawrence Trombo passed away peacefully on April 14, 2014 at the Beausejour Hospital at the age of 77.
Dad will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Alice, his daughter Bonnie (Jay) Stefansson & grand-daughters Gena Rae and Kiara; his son Kevin (Melissa) & grandson Brett, and all his family & friends.
Dad’s adventures began on a farm in Dencross with his parents, Stephen & Jean, brother Edward and sister Ruth. He reminisced of tending the wood piles, traveling by horse and sleigh, trapping rabbits and playing sports in school. After formal schooling, Lawrence began his career as “Lawrence from Video” where he provided solid & honest sales and service of television & appliances for 40 years in Beausejour and surrounding area. His commitment to satisfy his customers was his priority.
Dad met and married the love of his life Alice, whom he has loved and been devoted to for nearly 50 years. They made their home and raised their family in Beausejour, Manitoba. His love, encouragement and commitment to his wife and family were unwavering. Alice and his family were his everything & his friends were his family. “Working Grampa” loved watching his kids and grand-kids play hockey & ringette and giving them rides to school. He loved visiting, being “at the lake”, playing cards, hunting, fishing and taking short trips to the beach. He was known by all as gentle, kind, humble, loyal, hardworking and ”the best dancer in the world”. There simply are not enough words to describe what a wonderful man he was.
Dad would want to be sure that all family, friends and health care providers knew how much he appreciated the wonderful care, love and support he received from all of them over the years.
Prayers will be held on Thursday April 24, 2014 at 7:30 pm at St. Mary RC Church in Beausejour and Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Friday April 25, 2014 at 10:30 am, also at the church. Arrangements by & condolences at Sobering Funeral Chapel; www.soberingfuneralchapel.com
If friends so desire and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare MB.
The April winter winds have passed and spring is upon us.
Time is too slow for those who wait,
Too swift for those who fear,
Too long for those who grieve,
Too short for those who rejoice,
But for those who love, time is Eternity.
Dad, we will always hold you in our hearts.
You’re my bread when I’m hungry, You’re my shelter from troubled winds,
You’re my anchor in life’s ocean, But most of all you’re my best friend.
Loving you forever and always, Alice.
