1931 ~ 2020

It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather Klaus Vogel, at the Whitemouth Personal Care Home on December 23, 2020, at the age of 89.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years Sandra; and his children: Jane (Bruce), Claus (Evelyn) and Rick (Tamara). He will be missed by his four grandchildren.

Dad was a stoic man who loved to be out in nature.  He was happiest when he was in the bush with his wife and dogs.  He was a quiet man who loved the simple things in life.  We will miss him.

Many thanks to the staff at the Whitemouth Personal Care Home for all the care and compassion shown towards Klaus.

As per Klaus’s request, cremation has taken place, and a private family funeral will be held.

I did not know Klaus Sr. but have known Claus Jr. aka Nick, for over 30 years. Our youngest children are only a week apart and shared many birthdays growing up here in Roblin. Have heard many stories about Nicks family and would like to offer our condolences to the family.
Sincerely
Norma and all Gaber and family.

Condolence from Judy & David Rannard on December 26th, 2020 11:06 pm

Klaus worked for the Forestry Branch of Manitoba Natural Resources. Klaus was a credit to the forestry profession and his work in the Branch was greatly appreciated by me as a colleague, co-worker and Director. His work as Regional Forester in the Southern Region, the Whiteshell Provincial Park and Forest, and the Pineland Forest Nursery at Hadashville will long be remembered. His career in forest management also resulted in the creation of several new Provincial Forests (Reserves), and the expansion of the Sandilands, Northwest Angle and Whiteshell Forest Reserves.
On a more personal basis, Klaus was a good friend and he, Sandy and the family contributed to numerous good times while living in the Westwood area of Winnipeg. Thanks for the memories!

Sandy, our family sends our condolences and sympathies to you and your family in this difficult time.
Sincerely,

Judy and Dave Rannard

Condolence from Ken Ulrich on January 7th, 2021 7:05 pm

Sadly just read the passing of Klaus and I send my heartfelt condolences to the family. I worked with Klaus while stationed in Hadashville for Natural Resources’s in the early 80’s. I fondly remember many timber inspections and meetings with Klaus, as well as a few bubblies shared in the warehouse at Hadashville. He was one of the most sincere and professional persons I worked with over my career. Always willing to lend his voice to the industry or to staff and a great love for the forest and land.
In sadness, Ken Ulrich
