January 7, 1969 to January 7, 2020
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our son Kevin on his birthday, January 7, 2020, after complications from Lymphedema.
He will be forever missed by his mother Elaine, his father Jim, sister Terri, nephew Devon, many uncles, aunts and friends.
Kevin was born in Winnipeg but lived most of his life in the country, most recently in the R.M. of Rockwood (Stony Mountain). He graduated from Stonewall High School and pursued a career in Nursing. He specialized in providing compassion and kindness to his dialysis patients at Seven Oaks Hospital and later at Health Sciences Centre.
Thanks go out to those who tried to help Kevin with his illness; Dr. Venter, Stonewall Home Care, Healthy Strides, and Susan Zwarich from the Ortho-Rehab Clinic in Winnipeg.
A Celebration of Kevin’s life will be held on Wednesday, January 15 at 11:00 a.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Avenue E., Beausejour.
Flowers gratefully declined but donations may be made to a charity of your choice.

Dear Jim and Elaine,
We were sad to hear of Kevin’s passing. This will be a huge loss to you. We only met Kevin once, some time ago, and he was very friendly and we are sure with his background in nursing was a kind man.
Your life will be very different now as there has been a hole left in it. If there is any thing that we can do to help you, please do not hesitate to call on us.

Kevin was my mentor when I was in the DCT program and was very kind and patient. He had a good sense of humour and was full of compassion for his patients. I too, have happy memories of the infamous pig roasts that Kevin hosted. So very sorry to hear of his passing and his recent health struggles. Rest in peace Kevin.

I am so sorry to hear of Kevin’s passing, I went to nursing school with him and we worked in CVT surgery together before he moved on to Dialysis. He was one of a kind, with such a big heart. The most generous person I know. He will be missed. ❤️

He was passionate about everything he did. An adventurer, a philanthropist and a kind, caring, giving man. The world could do with more Kevins.

Kevin and I worked together for many years at HSC dialysis. He was a real character. He could be such a goof, sort of like a younger brother harassing me at times. He was also one of the kindest, empathetic, compassionate people I have ever worked with. He always looked out for the patients often going over and above expected nursing duties. He was a good man. I am fortunate to have had Kevin as a friend and colleague. He will be missed. My condolences to all who feel the loss of Kevin.

RIP Kevin, thank you for all the kindness and love you have left behind in all of us….it’s sounds like such a cliche but you truly were “one of a kind”….you always went out of your way to help others in need, i know because i was one of those people you helped. You always had such a huge smile on your face, and when i come to think of it, i never once saw a scowl or frown on you, you always had a warmth about you. I will miss you …. sore high my friend, you are now at peace
Sincere condolences to the family <3
