It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Kenneth E. Kahle on March 18, 2020. Kenneth was predeceased by his parents Jessie and Edward Kahle, his sisters Margaret and Helen and his brothers Stewart and Jack.
Ken was employed by Abitibi Price and worked for 37 ½ years, retiring in February of 1996. While working for Abitibi, Ken was the Financial Secretary of the Union for over 20 years and he enjoyed part-time bartending at socials and the Pine Falls Curling Club for over 25 years. Ken’s passion was geography; he delighted in conversations with perfect strangers asking where they were from and then naming every city and town close to where they were born.
Ken leaves behind his wife Doris of 58 years; daughter Karen (Brent) Robertson, grandchildren Jullie, Jennifer and Branden; daughter Kristen Kahle (Neil Boulette), granddaughter Courtney; brother in-law Hans-Ulrich Dieke and family; sister in-law Margaret (Michael) Harris and family. Missing Opa will also be his 3 amigos; Daisy, Buster and Mr. Muckie.
A family and friends gathering will take place at a later date.

Condolences for the family of “Kenneth E. Kahle”
I’m going to miss my Uncle Kenny. He really was the sweetest man. Had such a jolly giggle. He loved telling me all about where I lived and it’s geography. He was very silly and fun for me to be around. Listening to him and my Auntie Doris playfully tease one-another always made me laugh. I got to go in a tour of the Paper Mill where he worked and EVERYONE loved him. Just like I did. I will miss you until we meet again. ❤️

Big Uncle Kenny
That is how I thought of him as a child. I was small at the time. Now as an adult I have come to know my uncle as big in heart and very interesting to be around. Distance, time and life have made our relationship sparse. However, last year I started to reconnect over the phone and found Ken to be as youthful and thoughtful as I had known him in years past. Now, the opportunity to talk over the phone about obscure places, cultures and dialects is no longer available. The world is a lesser place without Ken and he will be missed.
Sorry to hear of Ken’s passing. Prayers and thoughts are with his family. Always had entertaining conversations with Ken. I admired his passion for geography!
Sorry to hear of the passing of Ken. I always enjoyed discussing the various Manitoba community names with him. Our thoughts and prayers are with Doris and family.
Doris , I was so sorry to learn of Ken’s passing. My condolences to you and all the family.
We started kindergarten together, grew up across from each other on Birch Street along with the Ford and Farmer families. Years after we worked many shifts together in the old wet lab in the Groundwood Mill. When I recorded my test results they always looked so messy next to Ken’s perfect printing
I always enjoyed meeting Ken when I got back to Pine Falls. He was a good man. I know my sisters Donalda and Beth would want me to thank Ken for being such a good neighbour and friend when they were elderly and alone.
I am glad I knew Ken Kalhe.

Doris and family. We were extremely sorry and saddened to hear of Ken’s passing. Certainly one of the most efficient people we have ever known. He always knew what everyone drank and had the drink ready to go. Ken was also a great conversationalist. I will miss running into Ken as he made his way around town on his scooter.
