1940 ~ 2012
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved John (Jackie) at the age of 72 at the Pinawa Hospital on Saturday, October 6, 2012.
He was predeceased by his parents James and Agnus of Belfast, Ireland as well as his brother Taylor.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 48 years, Shirley (Nee Jackson), as well as his son Jim and grandson Brennan.
Left to cherish his memory is his sisters Nancy (Cecil), Sandra (Victor) and Margaret (Ronnie), brother in-law Jim (Sheryl) Jackson of Australia, and special sister–in-law Hilary (James) and their family.
A special thank you to Doctors St. Godard and Mario at Riverview for their outstanding care, to Torrie John’s RN, and Dr. Manzar at Pinawa for all their care and compassion. We would also like to thank our special friends and family who helped build and fund Jackie’s much needed and appreciated wheelchair ramp.
In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to either The Heart and Stroke Foundation or CancerCare Manitoba.
An informal gathering for family and friends was held from 2:00 p.m.- 5:00 p.m. on Friday October 12, 2012 at the family home at 65 Anderson Drive in Lac Du Bonnet. Memories were shared.

Jack will be missed, he was a kind warm hearted person.
We looked forward to opening the cottage every year and dropping in at the Coca Cola refuse site to visit with him.
Over the years he was used to us Bear watching with the kids during every weekend and on our holidays.
He always made time to chat a little with us how was our winter, what new things we were doing around the cottage etc.
We were so very saddened this past summer when Jack took ill, we were no longer able to have our regular visits and chats with him, dump trips have never been the same. Rest in peace Jack you were a great person. May the memories your family have of you comfort them during this time, they are in our thoughts and prayers.
