December 24, 1960 – May 25, 2020
Sadly Joanne has passed away as a result of a ten month battle with cancer. Joanne was a very strong human who left her smile with all she encountered. She rarely stopped moving, always on a home improvement project or growing mutant sunflowers and tasty garden treats.
She leaves to mourn Ken, husband/pal of 30 years along with numerous family members and friends. Joanne and Ken spent 15 wonderful years in Roblin, Manitoba, a couple years in Gimli and the last 15 in Lac du Bonnet.
There will be no funeral service so if you can simply find the time to remember her fondly and have a little party of your own.
Please donate to Cancer Care Manitoba and the Winnipeg Humane Society.

I am so sorry for your loss. Joanne and I were besties when we were kids, and shared many good times. I’ve thought about her often over the years and was so glad when she found me on Facebook. Even as a kid, Joanne was always upbeat and great to be around. And I can see those traits stayed with her all of her life. Peace be with you. Hold on to all of your great memories, they truly help in coping with the loss. My love to all of you.

One of Joanne’s many strengths was her gardening skills as she created her own version of nirvana among the sunflowers.
I was lucky to have Joanne as a friend who motivated me to go on countless walks with her in the Brookfield area as we shared a number of conversations about our life.
My condolences Ken as you deal with your loss. You shared a lifetime of memories with Joanne to help give you strength and will continue to have the support of family and friends along the way.
