(nee Holloway)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Janet Grace Burwell (née Holloway) on the evening of December 2, 2023, at the Beausejour Health Centre. She was surrounded by the love and warmth of her family as she embarked on her final journey.
Janet was born on November 13, 1942, was predeceased by her loving husband, Thomas Burwell, and her parents, Wilfred and Eleanor and her brother Gordon (Penny).
She is survived by her son David Burwell (Sheila), children Jennifer and Amanda; daughter Leigh Stubel (Bruce), children Sam, Kalina, and Josh; and daughter Elizabeth Burgos (Dale), children Johnathan, William, Rece, Gavin, and Isabella. She is also survived by her brother Doug Holloway (Brenda).
In her lifetime, Janet had many passions, including her love for reading a countless number of books, tending to her garden, particularly her cherished tomato plants, and maintaining her beautiful pond filled with fish. Her green thumb and nurturing spirit were evident to all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Beausejour Health Centre or to a charity of your choice in the name of Janet Grace Burwell. Your generosity will honour her memory and continue her legacy of compassion and caring.
Janet will be remembered not only for her warm smile, her love of family, and her gentle spirit but also for the countless lives she touched with her kindness and humour. She will forever remain in our hearts, a beacon of love and light.
May her soul rest in eternal peace.
The family would like to thank Dr. Daphne Schmidt and nursing staff for their incredible care and nurture of Janet’s final days.
A Celebration of Life is being planned for the summer of 2024 with more information to come.

Condolences to the family. Janet was a life time friend. School 1-12, we had an apartment together when we got our first jobs in Winnipeg, Stonewall was a good town to grow up in. Our school group of ladies got together as much as we could and will be missed by us all. Rest in peace my friend.
