1956 ~ 2020
It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of our beloved father and brother, James Yarmill, who passed at Poseidon Care Home on December 23, 2020 at the age of 63.
He is predeceased by his parents Harry and Irene.
He will be lovingly remembered by his children Ashley and Justina. As well he leaves his siblings Harriet and Tom and he is survived by his Aunt Doris.
Dad was raised in East Braintree, MB. He was a kind hearted man who liked to read. He had a thirst and curiosity for knowledge. He loved to learn and be with his kids. In his younger years he loved to ride his motorbike and was a sharp shooter. He worked at Sungro Horticulture in Elma for 33 years.
Many thanks to Poseidon Long Term Care Home for the care and compassion they showed towards our father. As well, we’d like to thank the staff at Health Sciences Centre, Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach and Grace Hospital for the care they gave our father over the years.
A celebration of James’ life will be held once we are able to gather.
He will be greatly missed by his friends and family.
In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to Health Sciences Centre or Diabetes Canada.
We love you Dad.

We are so sorry to hear of James passing. We enjoyed his many surprise visits throughout the years and listening to his unique views on food, health and life in general. We always made sure he had a good meal before he decided it was time to leave and take care of his family and stoke the fire in his wood stove during the winter. It’s very unfortunate he suffered with diabetes which eventually limited his mobility and forced him to reside in a Care Home. Jim loved the outdoors and living in a country atmosphere. We are sure his last few years were very difficult being confined indoors in the City the majority of time. Due to our personal health circumstances and Covid 19 we were unable to visit Jim, but he was and is always in our thoughts and prayers. Rest In Peace Jim with your Mom and Dad until we meet again. Our deepest condolences to Jim’s children, sister and family.
