1933 ~ 2014
My dear Jim, love of my life, left us for a wonderful place. He was my husband, my friend, a father, grandfather and great grandfather and was a wonderful giving person.
He leaves behind beautiful memories to his loving wife of 58 years, his daughter Janet, Jacquelyn, Lesa (Ed) and Lesle (Scott), five grandchildren, four great grandchildren and numerous relatives in Widnes, England and Arkansas, USA.
His lifetime dream was to walk the “El Camino” in Spain which he did five times and treasured every minute.
Coming from Widnes, England to Pinawa in 1966, he worked as a Scientific Glassblower with AECL for 30 years. He was also a glass artist, working with his wonderful hands fabricating beautiful artwork that went worldwide.
If you are able, a donation would be nice to Cancercare Pinawa.
Bless you my darling.
Have a great walk.
Give me my scallop shell of quiet,
My staff of faith to walk upon,
My scrip of joy, immortal diet,
My bottle of salvation,
My gown of glory, hopes true gage,
And thus I’ll take my pilgrimage.
-Sir Walter Raleigh (1552-1618)

Uncle James,
God saw you getting tired, and a cure was not to be.So He put His arms around you and whispered “Come to Me.” With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly,we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.
You can rest now ~ with much love from Grace and Matt XO

Dear Dorothy and family members,
I am sincerely sorry for your great loss of Jim. He has been walking (with dog) in Pinawa, as have I for decades. He never failed to offer a warm greeting and a spontaneous genuine smile as we passed by. My day was always better for this. I, too, will remember him with his hand-made icicles and little sail boat, which has been on my mantle for years.

Jim was a man of extraordinary talents…he could take a stick of glass and make wondrous designs, he could inspire people through his pilgrimages on the “El Camino” trail, he showed us how even after 58 years he loved his wife with every fibre of his being, and he was able to make even the saddest heart laugh with just the twinkle in his eye and the smile on his lips. I was honoured to be his friend and I will miss him always! Love to Dorothy and Janet and famly
