It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Iris Fontaine on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at the age of 62.
Her memory will forever be cherished by her children Chico, Dennis, Kyle, Ryan and her only daughter Amanda, grandchildren Marissa, Dennis, Gabriel, Daenah, Taylor, Robbie and Mya, great grandchildren Honor, Aspen and Alaiya. She also leaves her siblings, her sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
Many thanks to the staff at Pinawa Hospital for all their care and compassion.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, October 13 at 2:00 p.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Avenue E., Beausejour. A time of fellowship and refreshments will follow. Flowers are gratefully accepted at the Chapel.

My deepest condolences to Iris’s family. Iris was a dear friend since high school in Grandview. I will miss her deeply as she had such a beautiful soul and was a kind person. I will forever keep her in my heart and remember the friendship we had growing up and coming to age to beginning our lives as adults. When our lives took different directions and to different locations, many of our friend group from school we all kept in touch. It was nice to have that connection from our home town. It was nice to reminisce about days gone by and to catch up to our present lives. I will be wishing her a heavenly birthday in October. Rest in Peace dear friend Iris.

Iris became my best in Grade 1, we had so many good times together shared all the stages of growing up we laughed a lot and had each others shoulders to cry on when life didn’t turn out the way we wanted especially as teenagers. We explored all the areas around her farm we sleep out in the old cars, just so many memories. When we became adults and life separated there was a day Iris didn’t cross my mind.
