March 31, 1952 ~ November 15, 2016
With great sadness we announce the passing of Howard Eldon Litke, aged 64 of Beausejour, Manitoba, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, nephew, uncle and friend.
Howard was born March 31, 1952 in Beausejour, Manitoba and was a lifelong resident.
He is lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his wife of 29 years, Donna, his children, Eldon (Carli) and Shona and his grandchild Alicia. Howard also leaves his brothers Keith (Debra), Dwight (Janice), Gregory (Lisa) and his sisters Gwen Honke and Corliss Duma (Clifford) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Howard was predeceased by his parents Eldon Edward and Helen Litke, in-laws George Weldon and Dorothy Ray, sister Cecile Seigler, brothers in-law Randy Honke, Thomas Seigler and god son T.J. Seigler.
Howard was an avid family man. He worked hard to provide for his family as an electrician, starting his own company (Beausejour Electric) in 1978, and brought his son into the company in 2007. In preparation for retirement he worked part time until the month leading up to his death.
Howard was also an avid sports fan. He played many sports including hardball, slo pitch (Howland Hornets), curling, bowling, hockey, and was an avid golfer later in life. He enjoyed many years in the outdoors hunting and fishing.
Howard enjoyed spending time playing cards, and socializing with friends and family. He was a dedicated family man and spent countless hours in hockey arenas and supporting his children in their many activities. Later in life he slowed down and enjoyed annual holidays in Foley, Alabama with his wife, children and close friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, November 18 at 1:00 p.m. at the Brokenhead River Community Hall, 320 Veterans Lane, Beausejour, MB.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his name to Cancer Care Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
