1945 ~ 2023
It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of our beloved Husband, Brother, Father and Opi, who passed on November 22, 2023 at the Pinawa Hospital, at the age of 78.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Brigitte Schneider. He is also survived by his children Michelle (Scott), Kevin (Izabela) and Nicole (Konstantin); his six grandchildren; his brother Bob (Pam), as well as his nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Howard had a long military career with The Canadian Armed Forces. He retired happily in 1995 to spend his days at the lake. He enjoyed travelling the world, making beer, wine and watching sports.
A big thank you to the Pinawa Hospital, especially to Dr. Bruneau.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made the CancerCare Manitoba.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, December 10, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lac Du Bonnet Legion, Branch 164.

First knew Howie in Germany in 1976 then in Winnipeg & Lac du Bonnet from 1980s. Shared the same birthday one year apart. Both ran in a Winnipeg Marathon. Liked his sense of humour & presence e.g. married to Brigitte on Thursday 9 SEPT 1999. We’ll miss him and his sports & political insights. We still remember his Mom Mary’s baking & dinner invitations. Danke Schoen for Brigitte’s Epicure creations and her rock-solid support in Howie’s latter months of uncommon weakness. Brother Bob & family sorrows & ours are relieved by our many fun memories together.
