August 5, 1958 ~ September 6, 2023
It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved wife, mom, grandma, sister, aunt and friend, Heather, on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at Health Sciences Centre with her family by her side. Left to mourn are her husband of 44 years, Herman, sons Bruce (Kerry) and Jonathan (Jen), granddaughters Bryce, Kolby & Bodyn, sister Terry, many brothers and sisters-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews, and a wide and wonderful circle of friends. Heather was predeceased by her parents, Victoria and Walter Anderson, brother Arvid, mother and father-in-law Bernadine and Walter Mueller, and sister-in-law Hannah Mueller.
Heather was born and raised in Lac du Bonnet, MB on the family homestead where she enjoyed being outdoors, riding dirt bikes, fishing and playing many sports. In 1979, she married Herman, her true partner in life. They settled in Whitemouth where they raised their two sons until eventually returning to Lac du Bonnet in 2008 and fulfilling Heather’s dream of returning to her beloved family homestead which has been in the Anderson family since 1897.
Bruce and Jonathan (Jay to mom) were Heather’s pride and joy. She loved doing things with her boys, particularly ensuring they learned to throw a baseball from the time they could walk. Camping and fishing trips, curling and baseball were a big part of family life. While raising her family, Heather worked at various places including Whiteshell Eggs, Hadashville Nursery and Moss Spur Peat Moss Plant, eventually finding her calling as a Health Care Aide in Whitemouth and later Pinawa. Heather was a helper at heart. She loved her work in the hospital and went above and beyond in the care of patients.
Heather loved being a mom but she was wild with joy at being a grandma. She loved nothing more than to spoil “grandma’s girls”. She rarely missed a school concert, game, tournament or cheer competition, even earning herself the title of “Grandparent Squad” among the girls’ cheer friends. She loved to do crafts and be silly and it was a guarantee that grandma’s pizza would be warm from the oven when the girls arrived at her door for a weekend visit.
Heather and Herman were dedicated to each other and did almost everything together. They often worked on projects fixing or building things together or helping friends and neighbors.
They enjoyed many winter vacations to warm destinations with family and friends over the years. Heather was full of life and energy, always keeping busy, particularly working with her hands. She was a wonderful cook. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, knitting and doing various crafts including wreath making and wood working in her little workshop. She loved gardening, fishing, camping and golfing, regularly attending Ladies’ night at Black Bear Golf Course. She also loved animals of all kinds, especially her cherished dog Molly and, recently, the miniature goats across the road which brought her hours of laughter.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday September 23 at 11:00 a.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Avenue E., Beausejour. This will be followed by lunch at Brokenhead River Community Hall. A private family interment will take place at a later date.
Many thanks to the heroic efforts of Lac du Bonnet EMS, STARS and the staff of HSC SICU as well as a special thank you to the Myers family for their selfless help when greatly needed. We are grateful to all for their dedicated care to Heather.
In lieu of flowers, if you so wish, a charitable donation can be made in Heather’s memory to STARS (Shock Trauma Air Rescue Service) STARS Donations, 155 West Hangar Road, Winnipeg, MB R3J 3Z1

I recently had the privilege of camping with Uncle Joey and Auntie Heather in St.Malo. Auntie Heather is always so helpful and caring. She was right in there to help us set up our campsite once we arrived. We shared many stories and deep belly laughs around the campfire. I learned that she LOVED baby goats! You had the best laugh! Love you forever!

My deepest sympathies to you Joey, Jay, Jen, Bruce, Kerry and the girls and to all of her family and friends. If I had one word to describe Heather it would be “firecracker”! She was so full of energy, always busy with crafts, woodworking, gardening, golfing and camping! I had the pleasure of golfing with her a lot. It was our happy place we called it. We were always happy on that course, whether we were having a great or horrible round. It was always full of laughs and sometimes deep conversations. She was a trooper, going golfing with a sore back most times and still crushing that drive! Heather always came to my rescue, whether it was coming to get me with her golf cart when I started to limp on my home or helping fix something at home. Heather could McGivor anything! She was also such a great cook and gardener. I got a lot of tips and tricks from her over the years. She was also our private nurse whenever we need advice or fixing Mark’s boo boos. Lol. Rest easy my dear friend and beautiful neighbour. We will love you always and forever!
