It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our mom, Heather on February 4, 2024
Heather was predeceased by her parents John and Delia and her brother Wain.
Heather will be forever remembered by her husband Bob, her children Christopher (Sher), Carmen (Joel), her step children Rob (Anabel) and Greg (Steph), her beautiful grandchildren Brock (Erin), Irelynn, Isabella, Nathan, Preston, Makayla and Isaac, her nephew Scott, her sister Judy and sister-in-law Lynne, and all the special people who loved her.
Our Mom was born in Winnipeg, and eventually moved out to the west coast. She loved the west coast but the prairies called her home and that is where she spent the last 35 years.
Our Mom worked as a health care aide for over 20 years. She cherished and adored her time working at the Pine Falls, Pinawa and Beausejour hospitals. She was gifted in making others feel special.
Our Mom will be forever remembered for her love of all animals, her love of nature, flowers and of course her love to horses. She enjoyed her little hobby farm that she had when she first moved back to the prairies. She loved going fishing with her husband Bob, but most of all she loved their time spent together at the farm with their horses, whether she was trail riding or just spending time with them, those were her best days.
When mom wasn’t at the farm, she was always wanting to know what her grandchildren were up to, they were her true pride and joys. She was always up for any adventure they wanted her to do. She was the best Nan, and they will miss her immensely.
We will all cherish the time we had with our mom, and wherever there is a pasture we know she will be there waving. Go ride off into that sunset Mom.
In keeping with our mom’s wishes no service will take place.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a dog shelter/rescue of your choice or the Addictions Foundation of Manitoba.
You were so loved and will be cherished forever.

To all Heathers friends and family, it’s with great sadness to say how sorry I am at the passing of such a dear and loved person. I met Heather in the early 80’s at a Medical Assistance Course. Our personalities clicked instantly and we became forever friends. We both got receptionist jobs at competing plastic surgeons. We helped each other along the way and had many confidences, laughs and fun together. We were always on a diet together and every work day went back to her place to eat our rice cakes and apple. We had many laughs over our diet. She fretted over her move to Manitoba but B.C. even back then, was getting expensive. Even when we didn’t talk for months or see each other for years, catching up was like yesterday. Heather made it easy, as she was so easy going and light hearted. Her kindness, caring and loyalty did not go unnoticed. She was destined to be a care giver and all the burdens she carried from that spells STRENGTH to me. May she be at peace surrounded by all her loving pets.

I was sorry to hear of Heather’s passing, a cousin that also shared the love of horses. Whenever she came to Victoria, we would go out for a ride; a very fond memory.

To Heather’s Family
I didn’t know what to say when I heard of Heather’s passing! I was in a bit of a shock to hear such sad news! I worked with her at the Ironwood Supportive Housing Unit as a Companion. Heather was a kind person and had great ideas and was very Artistic! When we had a chance to talk she talked very highly of her family especially her Grandchildren! Condolences and prayers to all of the family!
