Grant was my uncle and my friend. He loved his friends and family. I’m going to miss having a beer and listening to him laugh while he’d recount stories of his young and crazy days. (and there were lots of them) Also sharing memories of his girls who he was so proud of. He enjoyed volunteering at the church where the ladies there he’d refer to as his adopted moms. He appreciated the love and kindness they showed him, sending him home with delicious meals. When I was visiting, and stayed at my camper with my children he’d think of us and deliver us soup and sandwiches too. He was happy to help anyone if he could. Sometimes he might have grumbled about it but he always pulled through for his girls and friends. I knew I had him to call on if I ever needed a favor or a friend. Knowing that you are reunited with your parents and your friends on the other side and the fact that your body no longer hurts, brings me peace. I will miss you terribly Uncle Grant. Grant was a wonderful friend who loved his family and he shone brightest when talking about his grandson Mike. He would visit often and we got to be close friends. Jan and I are going to

I have so many great memories of Grant from climbing up on the kitchen cupboard for cookies that his mom Hazel kept on the top shelf, to playing road hockey in the school yard, going to those first parties as young teenagers, running cross country in high school (Grant was the best runner in Eastman), going to see the great early 80s bands in bars in the city, visiting him when he lived in Canmore, what a unbelievable time we had, having Grant as a roommate for 2 years, he was the best and craziest roommate any young single guy could have, building a sand volleyball court in the back yard, renting a hot tub just for a party, and naming our mixed ball team “The Screaming Electric Bananas” complete with yellow tie dyed uniforms. He taught me to love rap and Metallica, nothing like hearing “Enter Sandman or Funky Cold Medina” at 7 in the morning before work at full volume. He loved his music. Grant was an original and will never be forgotten. Please accept my condolences Julie, Ken, Lynda and Grant’s family. RIP Bud

Our deepest condolences on the passing of your father, grandfather, friend. Grant was always up for a little conversation and I never saw him with a scowl on his face. He is now free from pain and likely listening to his favorite tunes. He was so proud of his girls and his grandson and looked forward to their visits. He was a kind man and volunteered where ever he could during his time at Zion Lutheran Church. We will miss him. Peace be with you all and hold your memories close.

My deepest condolences to Grant’s family on his passing. Grant was a fun loving guy and loved his music. First met Grant at his friend Robert Selch’s parents farm, Dorothy And Art Selch, where the Super 8 is now located and my dad had his huge garden. I’d always get shot from my dad because instead of picking vegetables or weeding the garden, I’d sneak away to go and watch Grant ,Robert, and Wes jam in Robert’s dad’s shop. Not once did Grant or any of the other guys chase me the young brat I was or maybe still am except for the young part. But instead Grant would always kibitz with me and help me fix something on my bmx. I’d see Grant in town while me and my friends would be BMXing and he always made time for me when I’d stop and talk to him on the streets of Bean town, which I thought was sòoooo cool having an older teenager talk to me. Even when I got a little older and would show up at Beausejour Lumber to get wood to build some type of crazy project he’d ask what I was building and would cut the plywood to my exact dimensions on my project design. You were one of a kind Grant, and you will be missed by many. When you’re up in heaven say hi to my dad Norm and have some beers with him just like the old days at the Howland or in Norm’s Garage. Till we meet again.

Sending my condolences. He was such a nice guy loving and so caring. My girls just loved him and always loved going over to see papa G they called him. He spoiled them with candy and Popsicles all the time. He will forever be missed.

Grant lived with us for awhile when his mom was not well so I ended up with 2 older brothers not just one. So many fond memories…even the ones where we got into trouble. So many memories to cherish. Our deepest condolences. I tried quite a few times to send messages to Grant and wasn’t getting a response. We share the love of a dog, he’s milo, and our flint now. We had the privilege of meeting him when he had to rehome his dog. It was with such a heavy heart that he had to do so but I think he was very happy that he knew he was going to go to a loving home.
