1940 ~ 2013
It is with deep sadness the family announces the passing of their beloved sister, sister-in-law and aunt at the Health Science Center on June 20, 2013 surrounded by her family, Gloria made a peaceful journey to her home with Jesus.
She was predeceased by her parents Andrew and Emma Henderson and infant niece Darcy Jeffrey.
She leaves to mourn her passing, brother Bob(Dona), Kevin, Jim and Sheri(Joey), sister Marilyn Bodnarchuk(Irvin), Joel and Christopher, sister Valerie Jeffrey (Blair), Darryl(Kyla), Kara and Kaitlan.
Gloria was a determined soul, who once her mind was made up, accomplished what she set out to do, whether it was to complete her education to become a loving and caring nurse or to travel to the far- corners of the earth.
She always had time and love aplenty for her nephews and nieces who will remember her generous spirit and adventurous ways, especially during their summer escapades.
While she was still able to, Gloria enjoyed curling and golf (Her nephews remember well the fun they had playing on the Beausejour course with Aunt Gloria). Gloria gave freely of her time to her family, church, the local museum, the Seniors Happy Hour and the local library.
Holiday were special to Gloria. At Christmas time, she took so much pleasure in the Christmas Eve Service with friends and family. She took great joy in watching others open gifts. She truly believed it was far better to give than to receive.
The family would like to thank the staff at St. Boniface Hospital E6 and ICU; the Victoria Hospital ICU and the MICU at the Health Science Centre. Special thanks to Rob and Amanda for their kindness and understanding during Gloria’s final hours. Thanks a also the Anne Cook for being with us at Gloria’s bedside to pray with us.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 28 at 2:00 p.m. in the Ross United Church in Whitemouth. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kevin, Darryl, Jim, Joel, Sheri and Christopher.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gloria’s memory to The Ross United Church Fund, the Open Doorways Orphanage or the Autism Society of Manitoba.
“I have fought the good fight,
I have finished the race,
I have kept the faith.”

So sorry to hear of Gloria’s passing. I had the pleasure of working with her at the Beausejour Hospital when I joined the staff there many years ago. And she always came to see me when she dropped in at Anthonys for donations for the library. I will miss those little visits and talks of old times. Rest in peace my friend!

In the short time that we have known Gloria, we recognized her strong committment to this community & her significant contribution to the committees that she belonged to.
We admired her for her strong sense of independence in spite of her disabilities & for her ever present smile & friendly personality.
We know that she will be missed by many & offer our condolences for your loss.
