It is with great sadness we say farewell to our adored Maman, Mémère and Great-Mémère on June 3rd, four days short of her 85th birthday at Pine Falls Hospital.
Ginette was predeceased by her husband Marcel, daughter Arlette, parents Roger & Renée Boulanger (France), Alain (infant son) and grand-daughter Virginia.
She will be lovingly remembered and forever missed by her children, Annick (Brian), Monique (Bill), Michel (Jamie), Suzanne (Patrick), Roger, Pierre (Jocelyn) Joel (Francine), Yvon (Tammy), Sandra and son-in-law Hubert (Jeannine). Her grandchildren Suzanne (Chris), Ian (Shannon), Alain (Adrienne), Tanya (Eugene), Yann, Jannie (Derek), Kathryn, Blaise (Marie), Richard, Patrick, Solaine, Kedric, Natasha and great grandson Andrew.
Ginette was born in Paris, France on June 7, 1930 and was an only child. She came to Canada as a newlywed in 1950 and settled in St. Georges, MB. Ginette was a proud, hard working person and with the help of some special friends she learned to adapt to her new country. Maman worked various jobs while raising her 10 children and ended her career of 20 years at the Pine Falls Hospital. Her home was a revolving door welcoming anyone who entered and everyone was treated like family. Maman was an amazing chef and would always make a gourmet meal in no time for all to enjoy. Maman was our mentor, our teacher and our guide and we will forever be grateful for the gifts she provided us.
She will also be remembered for her unconditional love, her generosity, sense of humor and joie de vivre.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thank you to all those who helped take care of Ginette over the last year battling cancer and a very special thank you to the compassionate staff at Pine Falls Hospital.
Adieu Mamie!
Funeral service will be held Saturday, June 13 at the Notre Dame du Laus Church in Powerview, MB at 1:00 p.m. Following the service, everyone is welcome to attend a celebration of Ginette’s life at the Pine Falls Legion from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. A Private family interment will take place at a later date.

Mrs Lachiver was a great spirit, sense of humour and outgoing, we feel blessed to have known her and to have spent the special time with her at the lake. I still remember the story about the (krackers) at the airport. She will be missed by all of us.
