1940~2023
Peacefully on October 7, 2023, George embarked on his eternal journey with his loving wife Evelyn.
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather George Desiatnyk. Left to honour and cherish his memory are his four children Gregg (Anna), Beverley (Eldon), Sharon (Doug) and Karen (Wayne). Grandchildren Rachel (Rob), Bronson (Kaitlyn), Matthew (Sherry), Stephanie (Rob), Nicole (Brad), Clayton and Haylee, as well as great-grandchildren Tyler, Mason, Evan, Liam, Hayes and Anna. He also leaves to mourn everyone that George opened his heart and home to, as they became his extended family.
Thank you Dad for being who you are, your sense of mischief, stubbornness and above else, living life to your own rules will having a lasting impression on us all. To your friends and family you were quick with the wit, quick with a joke, quick to make everyone laugh and would never hesitate to celebrate, Diborja! To your children you were our safety net, our adventure guide, our master of fun, and our crazy role model. Your actions always spoke louder than your words and your actions have always shown how important family is!
Your love of cars, speed, sports, thrills and risk taking will live through-out the generations. Thank you for everything you have done for us.
And in some final last words, tonight let’s eat, drink, be merry and watch the game! Your inner strength is an inspiration that will be remembered! We love you Dad, we miss you and please say hi to Mom for all of us.
A private service will be held by the family. In lieu of flowers, thank a nurse, support a nurse and if nothing else bring them a coffee for George.

A cheers to uncle George. Still remember when uncle George and auntie Evelyn were at my mom and dad’s (Stan & Trudy). My son was just a little guy but loved uncle George but asked him why he says bad words. Uncle George laughed so hard along with my dad. Uncle George was speechless but I actually think he didn’t throw the F bomb for at least a few minutes I’m great full for the memories of both uncle George and auntie Evelyn.
