August 2, 1929 ~ July 25, 2021
It is with broken hearts we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Eugenia Leiman, who passed away at the Selkirk Hospital on July 25, 2021 at the age of 91, a week shy of turning ‘92’.
She was predeceased by her husband George (1995), parents Frederick and Martha Kopp, brother Arnold, brothers-in-law Jacob (Elsie), Fred (Gladys), Henry (Lil), Arnold Sedo, and sisters-in-law Kay, Marjorie (Eugene), Anne (Jack) and Mel (Norm).
She is survived by children Barry, David (Maria), Donna (Eugene), grandchildren Kristina (Sam), Tyler, Alexandra, Adam and great-granddaughters Isla and Quinn. She is also survived by sister Lucy Sedo, brothers Arthur (Adeline), Garry (Pat) and brother-in-law William (Bonnie) Leiman, along with many nieces and nephews.
Mom immigrated with her family from Poland to Canada in 1938. They ended up settling in the Lydiatt area near Beausejour. Mom and dad were married November 22, 1952. They then took over the family homestead in Tyndall. This is where mom resided until her passing. Mom was a homemaker and farm wife which meant a lot of hard work for her. Her passions in life were taking care of family, cooking and baking and in the summer her huge garden and flower beds. Mom was a generous person always making sure anyone who came over to visit never left hungry. She also shared with us, excess garden produce and lots of food/baking in ‘care’ packages.
Eugenia also had a strong Christian faith in the Lord and love of God which sustained her throughout her life, especially during challenging times.
The family would like to thank the homecare staff that came to care for our mom over the last few months. It was very much appreciated.

Auntie Janice was so precious to our family. I have many memories of growing up next door and playing at the farm; playing with my cousin Donna, riding my bike there and back so many times I can’t count, eating meat buns and many baked goods that auntie Janice made. Auntie always could whip up a full 12 course dinner for us when we came over. Christmas with Auntie Janice and Uncle George were the best. I will always remember her gardens and all the vegetables she had. I also will remember all the gladiolus she planted. To this day I plant them in my own garden in tribute to her. I will miss you. Give my mom a hug and kiss for me in heaven. Love you forever and always.

My condolences to to all of Aunt Janice’s beloved family. As I lived in Ontario I never had a lot of opportunities to visit the farm but when I did Aunt Janice was a warm and inviting person who always wanted to feed us. May you Rest In Peace.
