It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Erwin, age 69 of Seven Sisters Falls. He passed away after a 2 1/2 year long battle with cancer at his home with his family by his side. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Kathy, daughters Ivy and Jaclyn (Colin) and granddaughter Alexandria. He is also survived by his brothers Gerry (Darlene), Harry (Arlene) and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother Martha, Father Erhardt and brother Karl.
He was born in Whitemouth and started his career with the Manitoba Government in his 20’s. The family resided in Seven Sisters Falls for a few years and then moved to Oakbank where they bought a small hobby farm and raised Arabian horses. After 12 years they moved back to Seven Sisters Falls where he eventually retired after 27 years.
He loved to hunt and fish and was always looking for that big buck.
The family would like to thank Dr. Bruneau and his team at Pinawa Cancer Care for their care and kindness. We would also like to thank the palliative care nurses who came to our home in the last few months to help us care for Erwin.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no service as per Erwin’s wishes. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Cancer Care or a charity of your choice.
