Peacefully on Saturday, April 4, 2020, Erin Green passed away at the age of 57 after a courageous battle with early onset Alzheimer’s Disease.

Erin will be lovingly remembered by her husband Lorne of 35 years; daughter Katie (Eric) and grandchildren Lucas and Ivy.  She is also survived by her mother Shirley and brother Ron (Leslie) as well a numerous extended family, friends and co-workers whom she cherished deeply.  She was predeceased by her father Gordon and brother Doug.

Erin was born and raised in Winnipeg on May 3, 1962.  She found her passion in her long-term career at Manitoba Hydro where she began working at when she was 17.  This would be where she met some of her best life-long friends.  She was a woman of diverse interests.  She loved camping, splitting wood, walking her beloved dog Molly in the back trails of Belair and most of all, visiting family.  Then there was the Grand Forks shopping trips with McMuffins and Starbucks that will never be forgotten.  Erin’s retirement dream was to make Belair her and Lorne’s forever home and to continue to travel.  Although cut short when diagnosed with dementia.  Erin’s smile continued to be contagious to all around her.  Alzheimer’s may have taken you from us too soon Mom but will never take away our memories.

Her family would like to extend sincere appreciation for all the care and compassion from the staff at Tudor House Care Home in Selkirk.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alzheimer’s Society Manitoba.

Due to the current COVID-19 situation at this time, a memorial service will be arranged at a later date.

Condolence from Shirley Neil on April 6th, 2020 6:00 pm

Our thoughts and prayers are with Erin’s loved ones during this difficult time. Erin and I were great friends and shared many wonderful memories. How will we ever forget back in 1997 during the “flood of the century” when we looked after the family pet Daisy after Erin and Lorne were evacuated from their home in St Norbert. Our pet cat Tigger and Daisy became fast friends. I have many, many more fond memories which I will hold near and dear to my heart. Rest In Peace my Dear Friend!❤️

I worked with Erin at Manitoba Hydro. I was always impressed with her ability to remain unruffled and logical in stressful situations. All the while keeping a smile on her face. An intelligent and caring individual. My sincere condolences to her family.

I first met Erin when her brother Ron worked for me at my store in Belair. Our meetings were not frequent over the years until she helped Ron clear snow at my home. She was the one to shovel my deck starting in the year I had my knee replacement. We always had a chat and she would share her smile and have a nice visit. Her disease stole so much from her and her family. Thank you Erin, rest well.

Words cannot express the sorrow and loss that Erin’s passing has created. She was a great friend and a rock of support in times of need. We have MANY fond memories of our times shared with laughter and getting together, hearing about camping and Lorne and Katie’s doings.
Our prayers are with her family at this difficult time.
