Elly Sienema passed away peacefully at her home in Whitemouth, MB, on her 94th birthday, as she wished.
She is lovingly remembered by her children Pier (Donna); Hendrik (Sophie); Antje (Ed); Eelkje and Jerry Geert.
She is greatly missed by her family Connie and Faron, Dustin and Stacey and Great-great grandchild Draven; Brooke and Ben; and Travis; Kevin and Julie, (Brad and Daniela); Angela, and Karissa, Alisha, John and great-great grandchild Connor; Sheri and Keiko; (Melanie-deceased) Sarah, Abigail, Grace, and Joseph, and great-great grandchild Avery; Henry and Katie; (Craig-deceased), David, Lola.
She has joined the Love of her Life Garry (Geert) who, in Christ, has prepared a place along his side, to walk the path of their Saviour. They firmly believed in the Lord and that they would walk together once more in His Grace.
Her loving brothers Willem and Ann; Gerrit and Eileen will greatly miss their sister. Her surviving family sibling love includes Laura, Jake, Art (Bonnie) and Emily. Her parents, siblings and spouses have passed before her and are welcoming her home to her place in Heaven. Many nieces and nephews are saddened by the loss of their Aunty. She would frequently reminisce about the family who have gone before her, even as her memory would fade.
Dad and Mom were happily married for 70 years, before his passing on September 11, 2016. They were childhood sweethearts who walked hand in hand from ages 9 and 7 and for the rest of their lives together. The built their life and family together, beginning in Holland and continuing in Canada.
In respect for her wishes, cremation has taken place, and there will be no formal gathering.
The family home will be receiving guests on August 6 & 7, 2022, for family and friends who wish to drop by, pay respects, have a cup of coffee and a cookie, share a memory, or a story. A guest book will be available.
In lieu of flowers Mom’s request was that a donation can be made in her honour to the IERHA – Whitemouth Personal Care Home. She was instrumental in the establishment of this Care Home in her hometown.

Sorry to hear this. I remember being at her house while in high school. Her home was always warm and welcoming to me and to others. She will be missed by many in the community and beyond. May God Bless her and all of her family at this very difficult time.
