It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother Eleanor “Toody” Briese at Beausejour Hospital on April 21, 2021 at the age of 85.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Roy of 65 years. Toody and Roy truly married the loves of their lives.
She is survived by her daughters: Cindy (Lance) Wadelius, and Cathy (Byron) Sault; her grandchildren: Michelle (Evan), Nicole (Jeff), Kyle, Riley and Jaclyn (Erik). She also leaves her great granddaughters Leona, Ellie and Hannah, her sister Vera Lucko, along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Mom was a kind, sweet lady who dad called a trooper, because of her inner strength, and the way she could handle whatever came her way. She lovingly cared for Roy as long as she was able to. Together, they built homes together. She was a fantastic gardener, and a great cook and baker. Mom and Dad travelled throughout North America and Europe. Mom had so many friends it was difficult to get ahold of her, because she was always on the phone. She was close to her family and grandchildren. Mom and Dad had a love for the outdoors, and people enjoyed “their many camps”. She loved casino trips with her friends. She and Dad shared great faith. Above all, family was the most important to her, she loved the family gatherings.

A private funeral will be held for immediate family on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 418 Gertrude Ave., in Beausejour. Those wishing to attend are welcome to park along Gertrude Ave. and surrounding area and tune your car radio to 98.1 FM to listen to the service. Sobering Funeral Chapel will have funeral attendants present, they will come to your vehicle to give you programs, collect condolence cards, and sign your name into the Guest Book. Interment will follow in Beausejour Cemetery.

So sorry to hear of Toodie,s passing. She was an amazing woman. I got to know her from Bingo at the Beau Head. I hope you find some comfort in the knowledge that she had many friends in the community.

This is just so sad and I have a hard time believing that this actually happened. Bob & I spent countless
hours visiting with Roy & Toody, so many stories to be told, enjoyed their company over the years.

After my mom passed, she took it upon herself to call me on birthday, because she said she knew my mom wouldn’t be calling. That was a true act of kindness & it sure was special. It is sad to hear Auntie Toody has passed on. I have many fond memories of her and the good times we and our families shared in our younger years. She never said no to a sleep over and always welcomed me at your home. Your parents were always friendly wonderful people. I’m sure this is a very hard time for all of you and will be hard on Uncle Roy. A big hug and our love to you all. She has left behind many special memories to cherish.

Roy, Cindy, Cathy and family: I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Toody. She was one of the nicest people that I know. She had such a pleasant personality and such a warmness about herself. I remember her always smiling and laughing. I had the good fortune to meet up with her on a bus trip a few years ago and we had a really nice time talking about the past. She will be forever missed by all.
