To the Family of Ed Buss,
All of my and May’s condolences to Connie and Ed’s family.
Ed was my friend since childhood, he lived 1 plus mile from my dad’s farm that I was raised on. In pre-teen years I would walk over to see him, he also would walk over to our house, My Mom and I would always look forward to his visits, as we saw him coming, Mom would wonder what mischief he was bringing this time, always with a laugh.
In our preteens we spent time together, we know each other quite well. Then the teen age years arrived, our thinking then was not quite the same, as he was older and had more adult ideas, he was like a big brother to me. He taught me stuff like how to drive his truck and much more, I was more than willing and quick to learn.
In our later teens we worked together on Construction, well not really, it was more like Play together and getting paid for it. I learned how to pull real big pranks, he was a master teacher in that regard, it never left him, I tried on the jobs to outdo him in a pranks and failed miserably many times, except for one time, where I out did him, he never forgot that and worked hard to outdo me and he succeeded. The really good part was we got paid big money for all the laughter caused by pulling pranks.
Ed indeed was one of a kind, then Ed got married to Connie I got married to May and moved to Vancouver, BC and everything changed between us, we established a family lifestyle, But we kept in touch.
In 2015 in Beausejour I had a private conversation with Ed.
I had to know and hear from him with his own words if he had confessed all his sins and invited Jesus the Christ as his Lord and Savior, We said a prayer together to God, Jesus and all was affirmed.
That meant a lot to me.
Why, because I’ll see him in Heaven. I’d like to think that maybe, God will put Ed on special assignment, making God, Jesus and the entire angles laugh, with heavenly pranks.
If we/you confess with your mouth all your sins and believe with you hearth that Jesus is lord and make him Lord over your life by inviting him into your hearth, then you’ll go to Heaven. Where, with no doubt in my mind, is Ed’s new home, called Heaven
In the name of Jesus, may God Almighty bless Ed’s celebration of life day and Ed’s and Connie’s family. Amen

Dear Connie, Clint, Mavis, Brenda, Brian, Kelsey and Pierce
I have been sitting reflecting on the many times we shared with your family. Our memories are full of laughter, jokes, surprises, hospitality, caring and gentleness. Living in your house, our first house, gave us this wonderful gift of friendship and fun. Bill and I are deeply saddened about Ed’s passing. He was a very special person and a special husband, father, grandfather and friend. He talked so often about how proud he was of his children and grandchildren. We are holding you and these cherished memories in our hearts. Much love, Terry, Bill, Allyson & Lindsey

Connie, we had such a shock when we read the obituary in the Winnipeg Free Press on Friday (our Wednesday paper did not arrive at our house until Friday). We are sorry that we were unable to attend the ‘celebration of life’ for Ed as we did not read it soon enough. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Connie. May the many wonderful memories help you through this very sorrowful time. We have a sympathy card ready for you, but, we do not know your address.
Take care, Connie.
With sincere sympathy,
John and Lorraine Kozera, square dance friends
