It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Douglas Roy Lyons on June 16, 2021 in Pinawa, MB.
Doug was born September 25, 1940 in Carberry, MB to Frank and Rose Lyons. While Doug did go on to leave the farm he grew up on, farming never left him; everyone who knew him, knew how much he loved his garden. Throughout his life, Doug stayed connected to his extended family, keeping in touch with cousins across the country. In 1988, Doug married Shelagh and they built a life together; Doug’s family grew as he embraced her children and grandchildren as his own.
Doug is predeceased by his wife Shelagh, his parents, and brothers, Steve and Ron. He leaves behind to mourn his brother James (Hennie), stepdaughters Janis, Kathy, and Carolyn, his grandchildren, sisters-in-law Sue and Maureen, and his large, close-knit family.
Funeral arrangements will be made at a later date, once we are able to gather together.

I was saddened to hear of Doug’s passing. I was at Reimer Express when Doug & his brothers were there. I drove with Ron for a couple of years in the 70s. Doug will be surely missed. Condolences to his family, especially to his brother Jim. We will be thinking of you always.
